As an Area Manager you will in today´s organization be responsible for around 10 high paced retail stores. With this of course comes great responsibility in many areas including daily Store Operations, Budget, Personnel, Cost control, Sales and Profitability. As Area Manager your primary focus lies with the Store Operations and ensuring your Stores are running to the company standards and expectations whilst following the daily Store Operating policies and procedures. Our Stores operate at a fast pace, with new products arriving on a daily basis, with this in mind you need to operate at the same pace and your organization and time management skills will play a vital role here.
As an Area Manager you are part of a Nordic Store Operations leadership team where all the Nordic Area Managers regularly meet and together find ways to continuously improve. Reporting directly to you will be the Store Manager’s who are responsible for that day to day running of each individual store. GameStop is in an expansive phase and one of your responsibilities is to grow talent to meet the needs of our new stores.

GameStop is a hands-on, involved culture and we practice a ‘Lead by doing management’. This is internally labeled as ‘dirty fingernail Management’. All managers are expected to be hands-on, both in managing their areas, their stores and in understanding our business. As an Area Manager you must possess an open and clear communication style, you will do whatever it takes to get the job done and you share our belief that this can only be done if you spend most of your time in the stores.
To become an Area Manager at GameStop Denmark you must have several years of managerial experience in a retail environment including at least 3 years in a multi site retail management role. It’s important that you have good knowledge of the Danish labor and retail market and of course you are fluent in Danish both speaking and written. The Company language is English and therefore it is important that you can also manage English in speech and written form. A plus would be if you know Swedish, but this is not necessary. You must be comfortable with working for a company with quick growth and where changes are a natural process. For the right person there are very good opportunities to develop and grow within our company.
